How does VUPlayer find DSP plugins?

Postby Artie » Sat Aug 14, 2010 5:06 pm

Hi Jim; I'm taking a multi-lateral approach to trying to solve a problem. This is in reference to solving an issue with iZotope's OzoneMP DSP plugin. I've emailed iZotope, but haven't received a response yet. Here's the problem:

I use both VUPlayer and Winamp as my main media players. (Winamp does streaming content better.) VUP uses Winamps plugins, but strangely, they look for Ozones presets in two different locations, therefore, any presets or changes I make in one program, doesn't appear in the other.

Winamp uses: C:\Program Files (x86)\iZotope\Ozone\MediaPlayers\iZOzone.cfg
VUPlayer uses: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\iZotope\Ozone\MediaPlayers\iZOzone.cfg

If I delete one, the associated program will simply recreate it. I was hoping that I could just go into the registry, (for either Winamp or VUP), and edit the pointer to that file. But neither program has any registry key with that data. I don't understand why VUP would use a different path than Winamp, since it uses Winamp's plugin.

Any ideas on what might be happening here?

Thanks;
Artie
